What's the difference with the different months of bottle nipples? Could I use a 3 month nipple on my almost 2 month old? Does it really make a big difference?
The flow gets faster as you go up. Babies can choke and aspirate milk if they can't handle the flow, and BF babies can have trouble nursing if they begin to prefer faster bottle nipples to the breast.

If you're breastfeeding, keep to the slow flow (0-3 month) nipples. I made the mistake of switching over to the faster flow nipples with my oldest when he reached the milestones on the packaging, and he ended up going on nursing strikes because the bottle was so much easier.
I'm asking bc I have two bottles with no nipples and I have 2 three month nipples and wasn't sure if I could use those or buy a pack of 0 month nipples.
I think 2 mo is probably a little young for a 3 mo nipple. Some babies take even longer to graduate nipples. DS was an aggressive eater but still didn't move up till several months after the recommendations on the package. He was bad about choking on the milk.
The rule of thumb is not to move up until absolutely necessary, like when your LO can't eat without collapsing the nipple, like PP said.

Thanks ladies! I'll buy another pack of 0 month nipples- they're not expensive I just can never find them- every time I remember to look for them at the store I'm at they seem to be sold out.
