Not much going on here. 34 weeks this week...NST and ob appointments on Wednesday. I still have a lot of little things to get done but end up so tired after work that I don't end up doing as much as I hoped. Last week Gracie weighed in at 3lbs 14 oz /11th percentile.

QOTD: another Barbie girl here... I had tons of them and clothes and accessories but was never allowed to have the dream house because my mom thought it was too big and ugly so all of my Barbies in ball gowns lived in the camper.

8/2011: Diagnosed with ovarian cancer, ovaries and tubes removed

    12/2011: Finished chemo

    5/2013: Cleared for DE IVF

    11/13: DEgg IVF#1

    8/5/14: Grace was born!

  • Hi Girls, sorry for a post & run - I'll be back later to read all of your updates! I appreciate all the hugs for our failed IUI. I see it for what it is: I feel like any cycle where we're using my eggs is doomed from the start. It is discouraging when I think of it like that, so I'm moving on and trying not to look back!!

I will be filling out our DEgg paperwork this week with the intention of handing it to our RE along with our deposit first thing next week. Then we'll be able to start looking at profiles.... :D I know we are ready for this because I used to feel sick to my stomach at the thought (I don't say that to insult anyone! I just couldn't wrap my head around it), then it transitioned to tolerance, and now I am genuinely excited! I wish we could do a DEgg cycle right now, but am trying to be at peace with the timeline. I'm sure it is all for the best and will work out the way it is supposed to. I'm just ready for this nightmare to be over!!

In the meantime, we have an appointment scheduled with Dr. KK (a reproductive immunologist) in August (initial consult/testing) and September (follow-up/results). I don't expect this to alter our course towards DEgg, but I've also learned to never say never. Who knows where this venture will lead us! I'm just trying to keep an open mind and heart.

Lots of love to you all. I'm looking forward to coming back to read your updates later!!

  • @mm29 Was any of the endo they removed on your ovaries? Apparently endo interfers with the detection of AMH. That's the reason I was given as to why my AMH kept going up. My highest level was after a few months on BCP.

@MamazinSeattle I had the moxabustion done yesterday to try and flip my babies. Honestly, you could probably save a little $$ by doing it yourself. The practitioner I went to gave me the rest of the moxa stick so I could finish it off at home. Maybe try it at home a few times and if it doesn't work then see if your acupuncturist has any other options?

Most of what I've looked at online shows the use of 2 moxa sticks propped up on books by the edge of pinky toes. I think that would be too hot though. We just used 1 big stick and the lady sat by my feet and held the stick about 1/2 to 1 inch away from the outside corner of my pinky toenail (UB67) and switched sides every 30 sec to 1 min or when it got too hot. There was definitely movement, though not flipping, during the process and I've been feeling different types of movements this morning. Hopefully it's working! Also, articles say to do it in a well ventilated room. I'd highly suggest doing it outside and right before you take a shower!! The smell is so strong!

    This link explains it: https://www.pregnancy.com.au/birth-choices/breech-birth/moxibustion-for-breech-presentation.shtml

ETA: The above link says for breech presentation, but in the article it says it can be used for transverse also.

Thanks lady - that is what this one does is the moxibustion and she said for the most part you do it at home. A yoga pal did it and it worked for her! I figure why not. Also I'm going to do the inversions on https://spinningbabies.com/baby-positions/all-positions/sideways - here's hoping for some flipping babies!! Thanks for the post and advice!

I cannot remember the specific areas, but my RE did say there was not any endo on my ovaries.  I had 8 small areas where they did remove the endo.

I'm feeling pretty good... 7dpiui, I went for my progesterone blood work this morning and it came back with an 18.8, my RE says anything over 10 is good so I'm happy with that positive step! :) We were traveling for the first 1/2 of the 2WW so it went fairly quickly & stress free. Now that I'm home, I'm thinking this next week is going to drag on!

Keeping positive and my fingers crossed!

  •  I've been gone for two weeks on vacation and it seems like I've missed a lot!  @manada and @healz413 - I am so sorry for your loss.  My heart breaks for you.

    @marshmellowevening - Hooray for a mid-July transfer!

@cushie77  - I understand wanting to be able to experience pregnancy, but is there a way that you could do both?  That is actually what we decided to do... my husband really wanted us to experience a pregnancy together, and I wanted an immediate baby - which is why we chose foster care.  We ended up fostering two kids before starting our first donor egg cycle.

Check in- I'm mid FET cycle.  I did a couple weeks of birth control, and have started lurpron.  Had my first estrogen check yesterday (it was 5) and will start E2 Valerate on Monday.  Our transfer is tentatively scheduled for July 18!

  • Birth/ baby warning~ I only have a second to post. I got preeclampsia and my babies were born at 34 weeks emergency c-section. Harper Elaine is 4 lbs 6 oz. Noah Michael is 4 lbs 8 oz. Noah was born without his rectum attached and had to be flown 2 hours away for surgery. He had surgery yesterday and he is doing well. I'm still hospitalized and they quadrupled my Bp med today so hopefully I get to go home soon. I have only got to give my little man a kiss on the head after he was born and here it is 5 days later and I have not been with him. DH has been amazing. He's been with our boy every step of the way. I'll never forget his sobs as we watched out my hospital room window and saw Noah being whisked away. He's an amazing daddy. I love my new little family so much. God has blessed us.
