***IUI Check-In 6/17***

This is my first time running a check-in, so if I messed up your information, just let me know!

This is the place to update us on your IUI or break.

***Please note, if I don't see an update in 3 weeks, I will remove you from the list (you will see **4** before your name the week before I remove you)***

QOTW: If there was one food that you could eat and the calories didn't count, what would you pick?

If you would like to be added please answer the following:

1. Where are you at in the IUI process? (2WW, meds, break, etc.)

2. Which IUI are you on?

3. Test/Beta day?

I just had my apt with the new RE yesterday and I really like him!

Timing worked out perfect since I was on CD4 yesterday we did my baseline ultrasound and are starting in on IUI#4 right away. Same protocol of femara since I'm responding well with 1 or 2 follicles each time he didn't see the benefit of injects just yet. DH and I have decided we are willing to do two more femara cycles, then we will decide where we go from there. This RE does more monitoring than my previous RE so I feel like we are in better hands moving forward.

QOTW: Chocolate covered caramels with sea salt!

@lebradford thanks for taking over the check in's.

FX and everything crossed for you @ky29

@Kam10 glad you like this RE better and you are getting more monitoring FX for this cycle

I'm a BFN for IUI#3, we have our IVF consult tomorrow and I'm on BCP's for a while regardless anyway to get rid of all the cysts from that last IUI...I lost count after he listed of 57, 44, 43, 37, 34, 24, 13....I hate my ovaries.

QOTW: mmmmm right now I am thinking ice cream.  while my parents were out visiting we broke out the ice cream maker and made some amazing dark chocolate bailey's ice cream.

Thanks @lebradford‌ for taking this over!

I'm 10dpiui #4. My boobs are tender and as per my last 2 cycles I'll see AF by Thursday. My body is a well oiled system that apparently isn't ready for a little one.

I'm not sure what our next plan is, probably try again with #5 if this one doesn't work out. We aren't ready for the financial responsibility of IVF so who knows.

Pizza is my weakness. I can't say no if its near me.

@lebradford Thanks for doing the update! For the records - I'm on IUI#1 ICI #1

Currently in first medicated 2WW. Nervous about a horrible, heavy period after taking Estrace. That pretty much sums up how much optimism I have that our ridiculous ICI (seriously, who does that anymore?) will result in a BFP.

Mostly annoyed with RE/nurses for not having a better plan in place to make sure the sperm actually met the egg.

Food with no calories - I take fat. I'm pretty sure I could cut down on sugar if needed but give me my fat! Saturated, hydrogenated, dairy, animal...wow I sound gross. :) But wouldn't it be nice?

@wcesar Your comment about your body as a machine was hilarious!

Thanks @Lebradford for adding me to the list!

I'm frustrated with my body but irrationally so. Its my first round with clomid and I went to my CD 10 ultrasound/bw last Friday. The Dr told me she thought I would O on my own within 3-5 days from that point based on my follicle size-which, by the way, weren't big by any means.

I went back on Sunday for another ultrasound/bw and the follicles had only grown about 1 mm each-its growth which is good, but not as fast as I've read about and expected and since then I've had my BW done daily. Tonight I got a call from my RE office saying I was surging and to repeat BW tomorrow...I of course wanted more detail than the nurse could give me and she had to ask the Dr and call me back. She did and quickly...but told me she was wrong and I wasn't surging. My LH is 7.2 or something like that-which I understand is still pretty low. I thought your LH had to get up to 20 to indicate ovulation??

Anyway, I'm upset with myself for expecting faster results when my body has always done what it wants/when it wants. Plus, my husband leaves on Thursday for a long weekend with my brother and won't be back until Sunday night...the timeline is stressing me out-

Oh, if I could eat anything, any day, any time it would be mashed potatoes. I freaking LOVE mashed potatoes.

QOTW:  Cheese and Chocolate.  I would go to town on anything with cheese or chocolate, lol!

My update: I am 10dpiui, and I received some really helpful advice about testing out my trigger, but I just can't bring myself to do it.  I will probably test this weekend starting on Friday, and test each day until my Beta on Monday 6/23.

I'm kind of miserable.  I am exhausted, yet when I try to sleep, my body keeps waking me up, going from hot to cold (not really hot flashes), making me have to pee.  I am having incredibly vivid dreams in between.  I think I am making myself have nausea and sensitivity to smells.  The nausea has been going on for a few days, and I keep wanting to stuff my face because my brain thinks that will make it better.  I do believe I'm just making myself crazy and giving myself phantom symptoms.

Good news, is my left ovary is starting to not hurt so much, and the pressure I was feeling when my bladder got full is pretty much gone now!

Thanks @lebradford for taking this over!

I am officially 2 weeks + 1 day past IUI, and getting BFNs. I mentioned last time that we had really low numbers for IUI, so we're heading for IVF. We have our appointment to discuss it on July 7th, so I'm hoping we can get a start to it the following cycle!

So, since we're kind of benched/ waiting to start IVF, I've decided to thoroughly enjoy this summer by: drinking more wine than I normally would, practicing yoga without worrying I'm twisting my embryos out of my body (I'm weird), I'm going to get back into running, and I'm going to do ALL the house work that I need to get done on our exterior. I also think I'm going to paint the interior.

If I could eat one food where calories didn't matter: I would pick crusty breads, like baguette! But, I would make the gluten not count ;)

@BlueJoan It is fine with me if you join! Want me to just put you on the “temporarily benched” list?? Or I can just leave you off a list until July, but you can keep checking in. Either way works for me!

Sorry about your BFN and your cysts, @Alicia_R1

@CaterinaC @meld42 Good luck with IVF!

    Sorry @Buttmonkey34 ((hugs))

Sorry @Kcheese Good luck this next cycle.

@lebradford Thxs for taking this over.

Gearing up for IUI #2. Baseline u/s is tomorrow (6/20). We did discuss with the nurse about being more aggressive but it is a lil too expensive right now to start injectables. We shall see....

Good luck with your baseline appointment tomorrow. If IUI # 1 is a bust (which I am leaning toward it is) we will ask about including injectables as well.

@TTCBabyJ When I asked about going more aggressive, I was leaning more towards maybe increasing my Letrozole, but I'm already maxed out on that. The injectables I am ok with doing, but they are $75-$100 a vial. It is going to take me longer than 2 days to make that decision. Hopefully the baseline will show no cysts so we can get this second attempt started!!!

Don't rule yourself out until AF arrives. The 2WW is a killer.

@drstef: I'm heading into IUI #2 as well, with my baseline labs and u/s on 6/20. I hope they'll show that I'm good to go! Next round I'm looking at injectables right away. I hated Clomid and Letrozole did nothing. The ones I'm using cost $54 per 75 IU dose (Bravelle from Freedom Fertility Pharmacy with overnight delivery).

    1. baseline 6/20
    2. IUI #2
    3. No idea. Last cycle took 4 weeks to get a mature follicle. I hope the RE will be more aggressive this time.

@drstef: Last cycle I did five days of Letrozole with no effect, then 5 days of estradiol suppositories to make sure my lining was thick enough. *Then* I finally got to ten days of Bravelle, 75 IU each day. They come in packs of 5, and I paid $550 for 10 doses. $10 was to enroll in their savings program, so it will only be $540 next time. Of course, dosage may vary based on how you respond.
