1st Trimester

Tell me this isn't possibly pregnancy?

So, this is driving me kind of crazy.  I have two little boys and we have decided to be done having kids.  I've been on BC pills since my 2nd was born  over 3 years ago and haven't missed any pills.  I haven't missed any periods, but they are always light when on the pill.  I really have no pregnancy symptoms- except this really weird one that is freaking me out.  I feel something in my stomach moving.  It's not phantom movements.  These are real, physical movements I'm feeling.  If I put my hand on my stomach and wait long enough, I can feel it with my hand.  It started a few days ago and I figured it was something like a muscle spasm, just in a really strange place.  I'm not sure about you, but usually when I get muscle spasms (I usually get them in my eye lid or upper arm), it's a twitching, rhythmic movement.  These movements in my belly are not.  They seriously feel exactly how my other kids felt when I was pregnant with them.  It's so weird.  It's definitely not constant.  I woke to it on Thursday morning I think and it lasted on and off until probably lunch time.  Then it was just a twitch/poke every couple hours.  I don't think I felt anything on Friday until I laid down to go to bed and the movements started up a lot.  This morning I haven't felt it much, just a few times here and there.  If I go to bed tonight and feel it again like I did last night I think I'm going to go get one of those cheapo tests just to rule out the possibility and give me peace of mind.  Has anyone had weird movements like this that felt just like a baby moving?

Gas or random muscle spasms are a more likely explanation than pregnacy, considering you're on BC. Only way to know is to POAS though.

  • I have felt the same movements you are talking about and I wasn't pregnant but as pp have said the only way you can be sure is if you POAS.
  • Actually once you're far enough along in a pregnancy your body stops producing hcg so POAS might not show if you are. Go see a dr

  • wow, the bump has gotten even fiestier since I left a few years ago.  Aparently, it's been taken over by alumni from Teen Mom.   It's definitely, definitely not gas.  Probably some strange muscle going crazy.

An FRER can detect HCG less than 25, which is well below the average levels of HCG in third trimester. HCG doesn't zero out during pregnancy so in order for this theory to be true, HPTs wouldn't turn positive at all unless HCG was above 3k...most, even some digitals, detect HCG at 50.

There's no reason to go see a doctor.

I get that sometimes. I am most definitely not pregnant.
  • All I can say is go pee on a stick. If you are feeling movements you probably 12 weeks+ which is far enough along to get a positive. I would say if you are still getting your periods then you aren't pregnant. I get movements all the time that I swear is like a baby moving and I am for sure not pregnant. Gas, poop, or weird muscle movements are more likely.

Well, I'm almost 32, so I highly doubt that I qualify as a teen mom.

Take a pee test. That would've been less effort than what you pecked out on here and would've given you a much more definitive answer as well.

       Probably.  Maybe it's aliens.
  • Sounds like you need to poop honestly

Really? This post is worse than the "i think i felt myself ovulate and now my boobs hurt. am i really pregnant?!" posts. If your baby would be big enough for you to feel movements, you would obviously be far enough along to take a pregnancy test.

  • Rather than bullying you like a high schooler and being rude beyond belief, I am going to have some class and agree that taking a test or seeing a dr. may be your best option. Best of luck!
  • I think pregnancy test is the best way to go....

  • Either take a test or take a dump. Either of those things will eliminate your problem.
