Really though I think Climate change will have a big effect. Can't call it Global warming because all the idiots in my town are like "global warmin ain't true, hell it dang snowed an inch this winter" our town is also running out of water because we haven't had a rain for shit in 6 plus years and our aquafers are out of water and now we are in a huge debate about piping it in from other places.

do guns even work on zombies?  My work friends and I put some thought into this and we've decided the best course of action might be to go in the water, although a michael phelps zombie might be able to swim :-/

I chose rapid spreading disease, and put zombies in that group. Fun fact- they filmed the first scenes of walking dead about 15 minutes from my house- ya know where Rick shoots that zombie little girl? I frequent that gas station.

Lol that's a mile from me.

I always imagine I would be a badass if there was a zombie invasion. I'm a pretty good shot. @scrappylika thinks I'm some kind of zombie slaying badass so I would hope I make her proud.

A rapidly-spreading, extremely deadly disease = zombies. My DH and I have a "bug out" plan. It's more of a joke than anything, but we'd totally follow it if the zombie apocalypse happens! We watch way too much Walking Dead and other zombie movies. But we're both good shots. I think we'd have a chance.

DH said to me the other day, what if a shark eats a zombie? Then do we have shark zombies? I'm staying as far away from the water as possible.

I also chose rapidly spreading disease since I believe that will lead to zombies. And too cool! Obsessed with TWD, totally getting a 'Lil Ass Kicker' onesie for this baby.

Has anyone seen this? https://blog.estately.com/2014/03/u-s-states-ranked-from-most-to-least-prepared-for-the-zombie-apocalypse/ It's a rank order of states from most likely to least likely to survive a zombie apocalypse. Guess which state is last? New Jersey. Guess where I'm moving soon? Fucking New Jersey. Fate sealed.

    AAHHH, I'm in Zombiesota!!

Also? The gas station where he shot the girl?
If you're familiar with that area, I used to live off Wilkerson Mill at the huge property where the old horse racetrack is.

Yay for Maine! Zombies don't stand a chance here we own tons of weapons and whole families share one brain. Oh, and some families share teeth, so some who turn will be gumming on our arms while we laugh.

Oh, and I vote pandemic disease, which causes zombies and the fall of organized/polite society.

I wouldn't consider myself a 'prepper' but we do own many guns/crossbows/ammo as well as real swords and lots different kinds of hunting knives. We are farmers, so lots of chainsaws and sharp implements. We grow our own food and food animals (which we slaughter). I know (and do it a few times a year for practice) how to make soap from animal fat and lye made from wood ash. I have fiber goats and can spin and knit. We also have alternative light and heat sources. And no, you cant come live with me. Hahaha.

@MaineMama‌ I don't live on a farm, but I used to, and we also would be pretty well prepared for zombies. I tell my friend all the time if you show up with nothing to contribute, I'm shooting you. Learn a skill or stay away :)

All of the above should be an option. Climate change leading to an outbreak of a deadly disease which leads to zombies and a huge world war. And then some dumbass world leader decides to attack his enemies with a giant asteroid. Then the dinosaurs come back. Circle of life. :P

Lol, I'm guessing Alabama is near the end of the list because of our rampant obesity.  But most people I know own multiple guns and are very good shots, so at least we will give the zombies a run for their money!  ;)

As for my family, Hubbs and I both own guns and are great shots, so we may last a little while.  Ultimately, though, I see us trying to find a safe place surrounded by water.  Can zombies swim?

Too bad. Zombie Apocalypse comes I am looking you up. Better hope your s/n doesn't give out any good info because I'll be knocking at your door for some animal fat soap.
Is it also bad that that is the first thing I think of when it's the apocalypse? I won't be able to shower? :-/ I really am doomed.

No @shayna0408, I am the same way! My biggest worry for the characters in TWD is how do they keep clean underpants?! I could wear the same top clothes, and go with out a shower, but I NEED clean socks and undies.

And I googled my sn, there are lots of MaineMammas but none are me :) Lol, they aren't even in the same part of the state as me. Mwahahaha

I voted for hurricanes and whatnot but zombies are definitely up there.

I said a WW/collapse of society. In any case, I feel pretty well prepared. We don't have stock piles of food or anything, but we live in an isolated area, have lots of weapons, off road vehicles, and my husband and BIL were in the infantry for years. Their skills will carry us.

Sadly, a zombie-like apocalypse. Perhaps something similar to 28 Days/Weeks Later.

It's actually one of my favorite horror sub-genres, but I have horrible survival skills! Ugh.

Hahaha! I cant believe this thread is back! My son and I were picking some of the last blueberries last week, and I was giving some to the babies to eat as we picked. My 6yo got very huffy and said "Mom, if you keep feeding them we wont have any for this winter!" Like the 15quarts of berries we had already done up are going to be gone any time soon....
