These were the most negative responses I have ever had. Is it that big of a deal to ask what others opinions are on a gender ultrasound? It is very common and I have seen many others do it. I saw someone comment about how they were wrong about their friends gender tonight so it made me think about it. I have many other pregnancy groups I am part of that are amazing and thought I would try this one out but goood bye!
Gender cannot be told by an U/S. They can, however, tell you the sex. Also, aren't we supposed to be past the "OMG GUYS. Look at my kid's junk- trained U/S tech said X but I trust internet stranger's opinions way more so boy or girl?!11?"
I opened this, hoping for something really mean, and yeah, a little disappointed here. Likewise, kept checking the date thinking this must be a zombie thread. So sad.
@sopsongbird she was asking about the potential of her ultra sound being wrongly identified as a girl rather than a boy. You know cause at this point, being due in May, it really really matters...and of course, we are all experts, but unfortunately she didn't like our expert opinions.
I love it when people feel the need to announce that they're never coming back. Are we supposed to miss you, with your 2 discussions and 2 replies (in your own threads) over the last 8 months?

Everyone on here is cruel!!!! I came on here for advise and now they are saying I have MUD just because I wanted opinions on inductions. It's obviously not THAT HORRIBLE if my DOCTOR is suggesting it. Good luck ppl, get a life. No need to be mean to a FTM with questions.
Seriously, just checked back on both of these ladies' threads and couldn't find a single reason for them to be all butthurt. No one called the "gender ultrasound" lady out on going to internet strangers for a question to ask an ultrasound tech, or for calling it a "gender ultrasound" instead of an anatomy scan or a sex ultrasound. And the responses to the induction thread weren't mean either. Come on guys, if you're going to GBCB at least make it for legit drama ...

If your doctor is suggesting it, then why come ask strangers for their opinions? He's the one with a M.D., so far more qualified than any of us. Although, if he suggested to use castor oil, I'd have to second guess his credentials.

Shame on us all for being 'cruel' bishes because she asked for opinions and *GASP* we gave them to her!
Sorry you didn't like the opinions you got, but that's how forums work!

Wait, let me get this straight. You asked for opinions on unnecessary early induction, got lots of good advice, and ignored all of it. Then you asked for opinions on castor oil, got lots of good advice that happened to be the opposite of what you wanted to hear so you plugged your ears and went "LALALALA" because it worked for all of your friends. And yet we are all mean and horrible?
Here's a suggestion for you, then. If you are so confident in your doctor, consult with him and take his advice. Or pick up a few books. Don't ask internet strangers for their opinions if you don't actually want to hear their opinions.
ETA: Being an FTM has nothing to do with it. A lot of us are. But we've chosen to get informed by reading actual books, asking our doctors questions, and learning from each others' experiences.
@spacepotatoes - Ah don't waste your breath on her. Just enjoy a giggle when you know she's painting her bathroom a lovely shade of bile and brown because she thought castor oil was such a good idea. Happy shitting froggy!
