AW: She slept alone!!!!

I just had to share after 13w of my MOTN posts, I finally was able to get Abby to sleep in her crib, alone!!! It happened two nights ago and it took about 2 hours to get her to stay asleep but she then slept 2.5 hours. She ate and had a diaper change and slept another hour. Ate again, diaper change but then wouldn't go back to sleep and I was too tired. The next night, no luck, she slept on me. Last night after 3 hours of going in, putting the paci in her mouth and shhhing her and patting her belly, she went to sleep. It wasn't a STTN yet (baby steps) but every time she woke up, I went back and sssshhhhed her and put the paci in. I think I only picked her up and rocked at the beginning. I think the longest stretch was almost 3 hours. She went down at 9pm (the bedtime routine needs to start earlier but since I have to go to bed too it is hard but my goal is 7pm) and fought me until midnight with about 20-30 minute naps. But I didn't need to feed or change her until 4am. She went back to sleep until my stupid dh slammed the door at 6:30. I fed her again and we did nap together after that. It's a start!!!

Loooong nights but hopefully it will improve. Only thing I hate is she keeps flipping onto her belly, that wakes her up, and she cries. I have to go in and flip her back. She did sleep for a little bit like that. It scared me. From researching, it says it is okay as long as I put her on her back to sleep but most research also says they don't start rolling onto their belly until 4-5 months. I have the angel monitor on and the video monitor. So I'm watching her. Hopefully, I will learn to sleep again. I think I woke every 15 minutes to look at her on the monitor.

Okay, that's all!!! I'm excited to know she can do it and therefore I'm ready to spend as much time as I need pushing it! Yippie!!!

Hooray! It's such a great feeling when your work pays off. I also find myself constantly checking the video monitor every time she makes a sound. I'm blaming it on FTM syndrome.

tarajeannette not too sure. persistent on my part - usually I gave up sooner to get some sleep - I still didn't get much sleep, but hope to soon if this keeps up. I also don't feel like she is in pain now that the meds seem to help some and cutting dairy. I also think she is a little older and bigger and changing. I just hope I can keep at it and she will continue to sleep in her crib and hopefully longer stretches by the time I go back to work on May 16th.

@sapatel1 she usually doesn't poop at night. I was still trying to figure out what was making her cry so much and scream. The other night, I changed her diaper before the last feeding since the diaper change usually wakes her up, but then she wet herself again after the feeding and I was curious if that was making it difficult for her to sleep. It does not seem to be the issue so last night I didn't change it just because it was wet. Still a guessing game. As long as I eliminate things like reflux (now on meds), bad gas (cut out dairy), wet diapers (cries either way). I know I can try harder at just calming her down when she wakes and screams. I just didn't want her in any pain or uncomfortable. I feel pretty confident now that most of the time when she cries at night/bedtime it is because she is a baby. :) If that all makes sense!
