Went in for my appointment today. Menstral like cramps and low back pain since yesterday. MW said DD little head is fully engaged and my cervix is nice and soft. She said I could go at anytime. Now it's finally hitting me that I am about to be a mom. I am excited and nervous and scared. It's just me, dad took the scared road and left. I know I can do this because I have family behind me, but I will be by myself mostly for the delivery. Just really nervous that my wants will be ignored once I check into the hospital. Any advice would be appreciated.

First, big hugs. You may be alone for part of delivery but then your beautiful daughter will be there and you'll never be alone again after that.

Second, do you have anyone who could sit with you? A friend? Could family take turns? If you want someone there I hope they will come through for you!

Good luck! Who will be with you in the hospital? None of your wants should be ignored- you are the patient and it is your delivery- if there are things you want or don't want done speak up!  The nurses and doctors are usually really great about helping moms have the delivery they want, of course things happen that may alter your plans, but if all goes well you can pretty much have the delivery you'd like.

Since I'm a FTM I have no advice to give. Just wanted to say good luck to you when your LO decides to make their big arrival. Sending big hugs and you'll do great!

I have never posted before but am reading for a moment now. I wanted to answer just to say that you are not alone. My husband left me for someone else at 16 weeks and I am doing this pregnancy thing alone as well.  I have a lot of friends and family so I know that I can do it but sometimes I think it’s not the same thing. I hired a Doula to help me with the labor and to have support and she is rely helping me with ALL the questions that I have. That was my solution hope that it help.
