I was just curious as to what kind of prenatals you all take. I've been taking the spring valley ones from Walmart in the green jar but every time I go to get a refill I contemplate switching just because there is such a variety.
Pretty much this. I have gummies and whatever else and switch back and forth depending on my mood and how constipated I am.
Son: Jackson, 11/02/06, stillborn due to PPROM and IUGR. Over the next ten years we had 9 miscarriages from 8-14 weeks. On May 18, 2016 my daughter, Ridley, was born. We're OADNBC.
The gummies are what catch my eye every time! Do you still have to take those with food or no? @EllyD14 wait what? They help with constipation or make you constipated? I didn't know this! But (sorry for tmi) I haven't' been as regular now that I think about it.

The PNVs that contain iron sometimes don't agree with people.
Yep. And gummies don't have iron.

Right now I'm just taking the gummies (Target brand), but once I get pregnant I may switch back to the CVS brand ones I took during my first pregnancy (two pills, vitamin plus DHA pill, combo pack)...they seemed to work well. I was a little low on iron during my first pregnancy even with the iron in my prenatals so...probably good to take one with it.
I just use One a Day gummies-- I had issues with too much iron in my previous PNV's so my OB told me to just take at least 400 mg of folic acid a day. These gummies have that much so I figured I'm set.

Nature Made... I think. Too lazy to get up and look. I grabbed the ones with DHA because DHA is important when you're cooking but not sure if it's important when pre-heating? Is DHA something that builds up in your system like Folic Acid does?
Right now, I am taking the sugary VitaFusion gummies that taste like yumminess. When I get pregnant, I will switch to either New Chapter or Rainbow Light.
@MissChristineMarie why are you going to change once you're pregnant? Did I miss an important memo?
Another VitaFusion gummier, though I just bought the CVS brand cause they were BOGO damn if I don't love a deal. I won't go back to One a Day gummies though, because they have dye in them and that seems counterproductive to me personally.
I take the Naturemade prenatal with DHA, always take in the evening with dinner, no side effects for me. I chose these because they don't have any preservatives, artificial flavors or dyes in them. They sell them at Costco so I can get the big bottle for pretty cheap.
I take "Mega Food" prenatals - "Baby and Me" I wont lie they're horse pills, but the vitamins are from food, so evidentally they digest easier - I'm probably getting that really wrong. In any case, they're really expensive in the store, so I buy them on Amazon for much cheaper. Hope you find what you're looking for
Nature Made with DHA. They are huge pills but cheap.
They are SO HUGE. I was taking Vitafusion gummies - they had them at Costco - but when I ran out the gummies were gone. They had the Nature Made instead so I went that way but I have to say they are the most absurdly massive pills I have ever taken. I've read elsewhere that a lot of ppl have to stop them once KU b/c they make them throw up, which I can completely imagine. So if you have a bad gag reflex or hate taking pills, just something to keep in mind.

So being a food based source does not make it easy to digest. For example, many plant based nutrients are much more difficult to digest for humans as our GIs are not designed to break down cellulose efficiently. Also the processing undergone to produce a vitamin can also change the vitamins drastically, no matter the source.
It is a very common misconception mostly due to some fabulous marketing departments. A prenatal vitamin has some pretty strict regulation to availability of essential nutrients should be acceptable across the board.
I am another CVS gummy girl. Mostly because they are on sale frequently so I can stock up on cheap vitamins.
Love is like infinity: You can't have more or less infinity, and you can't compare two things to see if they're "equally infinite." Infinity just is, and that's the way I think love is, too.

I'm just taking the ones the health department gave me for free after having my mirena removed. They have all the active ingredients as women's once a day but with out the iron so it doesn't make me sick when I take them
i actually don't take a prenatal...i have a giant jar of women's multivitamins so i've just been taking extra folic acid and calcium, and i recently acquired a big jar of DHA gummies.

multivitamins are not regulated like prenatal vitamins so you maybe getting nothing from your multivitamin or excess of something. A study showed a drastic variability about national brands and even from batch to batch. Folic acid and dha are most important pre pregnancy , but you may consider changing once pregnant/ your Dr may have that discussion with you.

Nature Made with DHA. They are huge pills but cheap.
Thats my issue, my gag relex is rediculous and have trouble just thinking about swallowing a pill. I have to take vitamins all seperapately, not in a multi format. Just so I can get tiny ones.
Kudos to you! I am always impressed with those who can swallow large pills without hesitation!
Right now I'm taking the gummy prenatal vitamins. They're coated in something that I don't really care for. It's sugarlike but it's definitely not sugar. I've had the gummy vitamins for nonprenatal and I like them. I probably won't get these again. I'm not really sure why I dislike that coating so much. I can't put my finger on it lol.

Nature Made with DHA. My OB recommended them. They are enormous, as previously mentioned, but I take them with food and haven't had any stomach issues.
I buy whatever's BOGO. I don't even know which brand I'm taking right now... the pills are large and pink, and they have DHA and folic acid so my bases are covered.
Re: Prenatal vitamins
This. Worth the money to me.
