Target brand formula?

Our doc told us from the beginning that when I stopped breast feeding there was no real difference (if all is agreeing with babies tummy, of course) in a name brand formula and Target or SAMs brand?! I have been using Similac and never had the slightest problem with LOs tummy... Anyone else use an "off brand"?

Re: Target brand formula?

  • We use the target brand with no issues . Switched from simulac advanced to the up and up equivalent .
  • We recently moved from emfamil to target brand. No issues. Our pedi told us the same thing.
Can't figure out the signature thing, so here's the short, short version.....first daughter born on November 10, 2013. She was conceived through the magic of IVF after 2+ years of TTC.

  • With dd we switched to target from similac around 8 months old. No issues at all. Ds is on alimentum and target does have a hypoallergenic formula
  • Doesn't*
  • We use parent's choice formula.  Works great for LO and saves us money too.

  • They're federally required to be as good as name brands so it's just a matter of if your baby takes to it because the fillers between ALL formulas (even brand names) are always a little different.  We've used and loved Target brand for two kids :)
    Formerly known as elmoali :)

  • We used it for DD1. We started her on Similac and switched to the comparable Target brand shortly thereafter. No problems. I plan to do the same for DD2 once I stop EBFing

  • We switched to Costco Kirkland brand. They list their ingredients vs. Similac or Enfamil. It is closer to Similac which is what we switched from. Do other generics have this comparison? That may help your decision.

  • We use Parent's choice sensitive when I run out of the similac WIC provides and see no problems with my dd.
