OK, so here's the deal. This has to be MUD. This is someone who wants to see reactions from people because they think it's funny. I don't get this type of person, but they exist.

If this is in fact true I think you need help, OP. Serious psychological help. You sound like you're in the manic phase of a bipolar episode right now. And when I say that, I hope I'm not offending anyone who is bi-polar who may be on here. Not all people who are bi-polar have mania to this extreme, and not all people with mania will act this selfishly.
OP you sound manic and narcissistic. If you feel like hurting yourself or others right now, please go to the ER. If you don't feel like you are a danger to yourself or others then PLEASE seek help first thing tomorrow. You may not realize it, but you are being super destructive to yourself and to everyone around you right now.
Also, please don't post here again until you've figured your stuff out. This kind of shit is depressing to read - even if it is just MUD.
This is absolutely not mud. We all wanted to believe it wasn't true, but the evidence is overwhelming. We really want to take legal action against her, but haven't found a way to do so- yet. We know her name. We know where she lives. We know what her husband does for a living. We know an awful lot. But until we can do something about it in the real world, posting here and trying to get her thieving ass removed is the best we can do. And honestly, we regret feeling like we have to do this. No one wants the loss mom to see this and be hurt by it, or any other loss mom. But we can't idly stand by and do nothing and let it pass without being honest with all those that gave.
I wish I knew a way to help you all out with the legality of it. I hope you are able to bring charges against her and recoup all that money. This makes me so sad for everyone involved. Ugh.

Unfortunately, lawyers were consulted. Due to criminal code loopholes in the state of erbear1010's residence, it does not appear that much can be done aside from Erbear1010 returning the money of her own free will.

Stealing from other expectant mothers under the pretence of providing for a woman who has recently lost her child. I think the media would have a field day and bitch deserves it.

I literally have no words for how shitty this is. How someone could sleep at night after doing this is unfathomable. Absolutely disgusting. I really hope that something is able to be done for everyone affected and involved.

Now that I'm starting to think more about it, she probably intended to do something like this all along. Who knows, maybe her husband was in on it too. I always try to look for the good in people (even when they seem really shitty). And I just can't with her right now. I mean it would be one thing if she needed it to pay her electric bill or to eat or something (which wouldn't justify it...but it would be more understandable). But to buy something from mother fucking Pottery Barn just makes it all the more atrocious.

She was evasive for months and would never give any definitive answers that she had made the donation/sent the gifts that she agreed to purchase. Finally, after nearly 3 months, she was asked to post a receipt. She then claimed she was in the hospital (very unlikely) and couldn't produce the e-mail. When she posted the e-mail, the photoshopped date was for 11 days before we had even plan the donation plan, and it was a piss poor photo shop job. Another member called the charity, and was sent a copy of the receipt for the donation -- for $25 made the previous night, not the $550 she claimed she donated the previous month. Her responses became increasingly bizarre, until she posted a doctored bank statement, which was the funniest fucking thing I've ever seen (different font for the supposed donation, lopsided, very obvious white out marks below and around the "donation", didn't match with the rest of the statement, etc etc etc).
Wow. Just wow. This post is just so vile it is hard to believe. Everytime I saw the Sunshine Mission post I felt guilty for being a skeptical internet lurker and guilty for not helping out. Shame on her for taking advantage of emotional, trusting and caring women. Many of whom will probably be burned from this experience and not trust again when intentions are true. I plan to make a donation online tomorrow to March of Dimes. I don't even know who the mama is that lost her baby but my heart aches for her and others in her shoes.
If you know who her husband is, can you contact him? My husband would kill or divorce me if he found out I did something that shity...
I suppose we could, we were giving her a chance to rectify (if that's even possible) the situation first before contacting authorities, however, she's continued to lie and attempt to cover up, so contacting her H might be the next step.
Out of respect for the loss mom we decided going to the press was not an acceptable solution. Legally it would get us nowhere and worse, would cloud the memory of the loss in an even worse way.

Some of us counted you as a friend. I was so heartbroken over this, not just for our loss mom, but for the loss of someone I cared about and trusted as well (that's you). It seemed to me, at first, that you probably got in over your head. Maybe you used some of the money and couldn't replace it. If that were the case, I wish you would have just admitted it, instead of lying and hiding. I would have respected that a lot more, and been understanding about you making it back up, bit by bit.
But the photoshopped documents crossed the line. Were you planning this all along? I really hope not, and I hope that my gut is ultimately right- that you're not a bad person, but you made a series of bad choices. Please stop running from those choices. Face the music. Make up the money that was misused. You can make it right in that small way.
And when you read this, please remember one thing: you get to take your baby home. You get to hold him. You get to watch him grow. You get to tell him you love him everyday. You'll get to hear him call you mommy.

Well it's still something. If nothing else maybe she could be forced to either pay back the money or do community service FOR the charity she stole from!

What's sad about this is the money was donated in January, and people have been asking for updates consistently since then. She had plenty of time to "make it right" - and we've known about this for a few weeks now. Sadly, no attempt has been made to make this any better.
