Talk me off the ledge....

So I made a bad decision...I was bored and started looking up medical stuff on Google, and now I'm stressing that I made a bad decision in converting my IVF to IUI.  I was looking up AMH and FSH levels.  I hadn't seen my numbers in a while and asked for them last week.  AMH was 0.78 (a bit low) and FSH was 7.4 (average).  Nurse said that although AMH was a bit on the low end, they think I could respond better to meds on another cycle.

But when I Google, it looks like my AMH is low for my age (32) and often the low AMH/normal FSH results in IVF patients results in low egg numbers.  Maybe the IUI injects cycle where I had 14 growing follies was the fluke and I messed up in calling the retrieval off?  Then again, on my IUI day I only had 4 mature follies - 2 of them borderline too big (25mm), so that made me feel like I made the right choice.

I'm sure I'm over thinking it...plus, what's done is done.  Too much back and forth this cycle just gave me no confidence, so I would probably still stick with my decision.  But I'm wondering if you know your RE's stance on AMH/FSH levels?  Anyone have similar numbers and had a discussion with their RE about it?

Me 33, DH 37 -- TTC since Jan'12 -- Low AMH (0.78) & endo, SA w/ low motility
IUI's 1-3 = BFN, IVF converted to IUI 4/13 = BFN

Beta #s = 445;1,098; 9,545  -- EDD 5/2 -- Team Pink!

Stay away from Google!!! Nothing good comes from that. Also, your FSH isn't average, it's perfect, especially if your LH is similar. Take some D3 supplements, and I bet your AMH will increase. I think you made the right decision!!

My doctors have always told me to stay away from Google.  It does more harm that good sometimes.  I think you made the right decision as well!

I know it's hard to stop second guessing yourself. And Google is the biggest time suck ever when you're stressing about IF decisions.

My numbers are really similair to yours. AMH .75 and FSH was last 6.5 and I'm 30. For IVF #1 my AFC was only 9 and coupled with my low AMH she said I probably had DOR. Since then I've had AFC of 12, 14 and 15 and she thinks my reserve is better than she previously thought. She said that with my AMH, it's usually possible to get 10-12 mature eggs. So if I were you I wouldn't stress. I think you definitely made the right decision by converting.

Your numbers are similar to mine. What protocol were you on and what were the meds and doses? My RE feels that for low AMH/normal FSH that the low AMH just means higher dose of stims and finding the right protocol. I wish it wasn't trial and error, but it seems to be. In my case, I'm doing a lot better on Microflare vs. Antagonist. You'll just have to tweak and find what works best for your body.

Dr. Google can be a jerk sometimes so try to step away and do something nice for yourself. Or look at cute dog or cat videos. :)
