Pregnant after IF

anyone in CA? random question

Hey CA ladies. Random question for you: have you been billed for prenatal screening from the state? I sent them all my insurance info but I keep getting billed. Anyone else have this problem?

I live in Sacramento - moved here four years ago for work and DH and I both really like it and plan to stay. Would love to know where everyone else is from.

Re: anyone in CA? random question

  • I'm in CA, but my insurance (Kaiser Permanente) arranged all the payment.  So sorry this is a hassle for you!

    Ditto all this!

  • I live in southern California (LA). We've had issues with insurance covering certain things, specifically the Panorama, but not from the state screening. Have you called your insurance to see why you keep getting billed? There could be an issue with coding from whomever did your screening.

  • I just got a bill like that - my first. I haven't yet sent it back with my insurance info, but I am happy to keep you posted once I do.

  • @marnief and everyone else - thanks for your messages. I sent the first bill back with my insurance info and then got another bill saying something like "your bill is overdue" and "insurance is paying zero." However I checked with my insurance and they hadn't been billed. So I called the state this morning, sat on hold for like 30 min, and they told me - oh yeah - we are in the process of billing your insurance, we just send that second bill to everyone. Awesome, but at least there's a chance insurance will pay for some/all of it. It's not a ton ($165 or something) but these things add up.
