DD1 (ADHD, SPD) had Field Day today, and she did great! DH volunteered, so he checked in with her teacher at the end, and she gave him a very positive report
DD1's school has a little "store" set up intermittently where kids earn tickets with good behavior and can use them to buy little knickknacks. Sophie got herself one of those little sticky, stretchy hand thingies the last time and DD2 loves it, and so DD1 told her sister that she would use her tickets to get one for Elsa today and asked what color she wanted. I love her generous spirit!
But along with that, she warned DD2 that if she didn't have enough tickets, or the hands weren't out today (the same stuff isn't available every time), that she wouldn't be able to get DD2 one. I loved that she was clearly thinking ahead about potential obstacles, anticipating that DD2 would be disappointed if it didn't work out and was giving her a heads-up.
Dd told me her throat hurt this week. At first I thought it was echolalia but she gestured to her throat (which I didn't do when I asked) so I'll take it.:) it also seems dd turned into a threenager overnight--loads of defiance and demands and no's when she doesn't want to do something. I find I have more patience when dd goes through these phases as opposed to ds because I'll take developmentally appropriate behavior. Haha.
