Looks like we will be doing a neocate trial for DD in the hope of getting on top of her rash and newly developed blood in her poop (sorry for the TMI). As ridiculous as this sounds, we have never used powdered formula before - with DS we used rtf alimentum, and did the same with DD till now. I've read the neocate can and a few websites, but the information is so inconsistent I don't know what to believe. And I am waiting to hear back from the pedi but thought I'd consult my panel of "experts" here while I wait. So, the question is....do I really have to boil the water? And if yes and I opt to use bottled water instead, can I use fluoridated water so long as the fluoride content is below the content that is in the tap water we'd otherwise be using? (yes I am type a such that I looked this up for my community so I know what our levels allegedly are). Thanks for your input. I feel silly asking these questions but it is something I never had to contemplate before!

We have used NeoCate since our DD was 5 weeks old and was weaned off of TPN. We used Nursery water until she was 6 months old, then we switched to tap water. She's been fine both ways. If you're concerned talk to your dietician through GI.
Thanks. We are working on specialist referrals and the pedi finally responded late yesterday that either was fine. Appreciate the response!
