baby girl shoes/tights?

I am having a DD and have been given some cute little shoes. Silly question, but let me say this is all new to me, do you put tights on with all shoes or do you go without when they are little(I am referring to warmer weather) with a 0-12 mos. old

We didn't use shoes at all until DD started walking (11.5mo). She would wear tights or socks in the winter and nothing in the warmer months.

Like PP said my kids didn't get shoes until about 12 mos or so.  My DD wore tights a few times.  Mostly socks or nothing.

If the shoes are going to irritate her feet or rub them, buy a pair of thin tights to go in under them to make them more comfy.

Thanks ladies. I guess I should reframe from buying all those cute little shoes in the beginning.

DD wore tights and shoes for the first time at 4 months old and only because we went to a wedding. After that I don't think she wore them again until 10 months old at Christmas and New Year.

I hardly ever put DD in a dress until she could walk, though. Dresses are really annoying for baby girls learning to crawl - the skirt gets caught under their knees and then they can't move forward very easily.

ETA: I didn't do shoes other than Robeez style ones with DD until she was walking because she kept taking them off.

They're a waste of money. They're not needed before they are walking, and doctors recommend nothing on baby's feet while they are learning to walk.
I hear you. They are one of those items that suck you in and you realize after you didnt need them.

Of course babies don't need shoes, but they're so cute! I put shoes on my daughter without tights when it's warm out.  I only use soft soled shoes, nothing that would be uncomfortable for her.
