There are two maternity stores at the Pentagon City mall.  One is like practically a kiosk and sucks and the other is a little more stylish.  Target also has Liz Lange Maternity, which is very inexpensive if you do need some real maternity clothes.  Bought a pair of (sort of) cute black pants the other day there for work out of desperation.  However, depending on your styleand how big you get and how fast, I not advise wasting much time/money with maternity bc you wont wear it afterwards.  H+M is a great resource for "silk" tops/tunics and cheap long tanks and sweaters, just bought in larger sizes.  Do get Isabel and Ingrid leggings asap, theyre great. Always on Gilt. Preggo jeans, and other things, are often on gilt too, though I would either try maternity jeans on in a store first and buy them online or make sure they are returnable bc I personally dont find maternity jeans very comfortable.  I also think I waited way too long to wear them (8+ months).

If you need work clothes, check out the stretchy dresses and skirts at Ann Taylor and Banana Republic. I am still wearing the dresses I bought months ago.  You'd be surprised how much regular clothing you can still wear.  Also, Diane Von Furstenberg dresses with ruching on the sides are very forgiving.  At 34.5 weeks I found at least 3 cute dress options at Bloomingdale's.  If you're having to buy sizes SO much bigger than your normal size that you know you won't be able to wear them again then its not worth it to spend the money on regular clothes either but dont foreclose the possibility.

Oh, I forgot about this but everyone says Asos is really cute.  Have to order online.  Hatch as well, but more expensive.

I also got some dresses on Asos and for the price, they're good quality and cute.  Lately I've been getting some stuff at Gap.com and OldNavy.com - Gap doesn't let you return in store, but Old Navy does.

Hi - The downtown Macy's has a very small selection of maternity clothes on the 3rd floor tucked away in a back corner. I've also found that ordering online can be great for basics. I've ordered from Anne Taylor Loft maternity, and Zulily (which can take a while for the order to arrive).
