Hi everyone! I've been MIA for the last month or so on the May 2014 board, but I want to pop back in and give y'all an update. At only 25 weeks gestation, our boy/girl twins decided they preferred January instead...
Other than a small subchorionic hematoma early on (around 9wks) that sent us to the ER in a panic, my pregnancy with the twins was pretty uneventful. At 22wks I had a cervical check and everything looked great. By my growth scan at 24wks though, things had changed dramatically and the doctor discovered I was dilated 2-3cm. I was since directly up to L&D and placed on hospital bedrest where the medical team did everything they could to try and buy our babies a little more time in utero. Thankfully I was able to get the steroid shots, because three days later my baby girl's water broke. Even still we were able to make it four more days before the twins arrive. On January 29th, at exactly 25wks, Cali & Camden decided they couldn't wait any longer. Since Camden was breeched and my doctors didn't want to take any chances, I was prepped for a c-section. Cali was born first, weighing only 1lb 9oz, and Camden arrived three minutes after his sister, weighing 1lb 15oz. Both babies came out crying. They've each already had their fair share of ups and downs and still have quite a long NICU stay remaining, but we're hopeful to be able to bring them home with us sometime in May.
I would never wish our journey on any of y'all, but I am so thankful nonetheless. Even with all of the challenges and unknowns that lie ahead, our precious preemies are perfect in every way and we are so incredibly blessed to be their parents.
I hope the next few months go smoothly for the rest of you. I know you're all anxiously waiting to meet your little ones, but please try to let them bake as long as possible though. T&Ps!

Wow. I can't imagine the journey you and your family have been on for this past month, or what lies ahead. I'm glad that they are little fighters, they must take after their mama. I hope the rest of their NICU stay is smooth sailing. Keeping you and your family in my thoughts!

Thank you for sharing your story with us! I'll keep your beautiful girls in my thoughts and prayers. Hope the rest of your NICU stay is uneventful and you get to bring those precious girls home in May! Stay positive & strong, congratulations!
I've been wondering about how you've been! I feel like we were very similar in our history and our pregnancy. I pray you'll have an uneventful NICU stay and that you come home with 2 healthy happy babies in May! They are absolutely beautiful.
Congrats! Wishing the best for your sweet babies! I know NICU stays are super hard. My brother and sister in law just went through it this last summer. Their baby is home and happy and totally fine! Wishing the same for you and your littles!
Thank you for the update! They are beautiful and I'm sending so many T&Ps that the rest of their NICU stays are uneventful and full of progress. And hugs to you for dealing with all of the emotions that come with micro preemies and a long NICU stay. ETA: I saw that you also introed on the preemie board, and I just want to add that my friends who had preemies found amazing support there.
