Eye color?

Have your baby's eyes started to change yet? DD1 had hazel eyes and I think they started turning darker around 3 months, but I can't remember. DD2's eye seem lighter still. I have blue eyes and DH has light brown eyes w a little green, so I know blue eyes are a possibility. I think they can change up until 6 months though.
IVF, acupuncture, meditation and a miracle.

Re: Eye color?

  • I have read they can change up to one year. My LO started out with steely blue eyes that have turned bluer sine birth.

I have blue eyes, DH has brown, but since DH's dad is blue eyed, LO has a 50/50 shot at blue or brown. I hope they stay blue like mine!

  • Kainoas eyes turned brown at 3 weeks and have been ever since. It happened a lot faster than I thought it would. I've heard they can change for up to a yr and 1/2.
  • My eyes would change back and forth from green to blue until I was a teenager then they stayed green. It looks like DD's eyes are going to do the same thing and she is almost 3. I am anxious to see what DS's eyes will do. They seem to be following the same pattern as I and DD. So far they have gone from a deep blue gray to a lighter blue.

Literally exactly this! Lol. He's got my skin tone so I hope he keeps the blues! Just hoping he doesn't get as many freckles as me..
  • DD has gray eyes also right now, although hubby thinks theyre blue. I am crossing my fingers that she gets her daddy's green eyes. I have brown eyes and looking at my baby pics, it seems like they did turn that way pretty early on (like 3-4mo range).

  • I've heard they can change up to 3 years.   DD1s were extremely dark(basically black) til she was about 8 months til they started lightening to a medium brown.  DD2 just kept the newborn steely blue but they got gradually lighter.  She's 4.5 now so I think she's keeping the gray/blue.

Mine changed when I was a teenager.  They are gray and yellow now but they were blue when I was a kid.  I REALLY hope LO gets DH's eye color because he looks so much like DH already. I think it would be super cute if he also had the same green eyes.  (They don't appear to have changed at all yet.)

LO had very dark blue eyes at birth. They're still blue, but have tremendously lightened up!!

  • DS was born with steel blue eyes, almost navy. He's 2 abs they are a light blue gray. DD seems to be going the same route and she's 10weeks. DH has light blue eyes and mine are an amber brown (had green till I was in my early teens).
  • DH and I both have blue eyes so it's pretty much a sure thing that baby E's eyes will stay blue, now it's just a matter of if they will stay dark blue like mine or iced blue like DH. Maybe in the middle?
  • DH and I both have brown eyes, but for some reason he wants DS to have blue.  A lot of his family has blue eyes maybe that is it.  And I want him to have brown like us.  For now he still has the dark steel blue eyes so we will see who wins!

  • We found an online calculator thing that said 8% chance of blue, 42% chance of green and 50% chance of brown.  It accounted for parents, grandparents and aunts/uncles.  At 9 weeks her eyes are still blueish...so we'll see!
