I'm 37 weeks & just had my last appointment with my OB and he never told me this before but he said he doesn't like to induce labor with twins so if I make it another week I will have a C-Section no matter what. Anyone else's OB like this? I have been so happy my LOs have been head down so I could try for a vag. birth. I can't believe he never mentioned this sooner.....
Wow, that totally sucks! I've never heard of a doctor saying this either. I hope you can work it out to get a vag delivery. Your doctor insisting on a c-section if there's no medial need for it sounds unreasonable.
Eek. I wouldn't stand for that. Plenty of twin mamas get induced. I've been told I'll get induced if I don't go into labour on my own. I'd be questioning him and even looking for another doc ASAP. Not cool!
That's crazy talk. My twins are head down and we are inducing between weeks 37 & 38 if they're not here by then. OB doesn't think we will need the date but wants it on the books just in case.
Are your twins di/di? I can't imagine what the issue is for inducing anyhow but maybe if they share a placenta it is riskier? I think some doctors just prefer the easiness of c/s. I was induced and B was a breech extraction (he wasn't head down to begin with) and no problems at all. Hope you can get a better answer!

I would defintley ask for a better reason. I am mo/di and my doc will induce as long as A is head down. I have the option of a c-section, but she's encouraging me to try vaginally. Are there other doctors in the practice that can easily give you a 2nd opinion?
Induction of mo/di twin boys scheduled for 2/24!

My OB said she would induce at 37 weeks if I was still pregnant and A remained head down. No idea why yours is against it. I'd ask for some good reasons why.
My OB was going to induce between 37 and 38 weeks as long as Baby A was head down. Both mine were head down but I ended up in a c/s anyways due to the stress labour would have put on the babies. I'd get a 2nd opinion too.
I don't understand his reasoning. I should have asked more questions I will call in the morning. He simply said "I don't like to induce labor with twins, I feel it can be to dangerous." Both babies are head down. I just don't get it. I would think he would be happy I could try for a vag. Birth.
My doc said that her preference is to not induce multiples also. But she never said that my only option is a section. From the beginning, she's known and been supportive of my desire for a vaginal birth and I've known that the positions of the babies would be the deciding factor in the delivery method.
