I just started temping (orally but debating on changing to vaginally since I seem to be sleeping with an open mouth) and I am finding it hard to temp due to DS2 still waking up multiple times a night. I"m hoping to get him on a schedule again because he's getting up every 4 hours or so. 

Well that about sums it up.

Not sure if there is a question here... but I would just temp whenever you get 3 hours sleep until he is regulated.

I totally understand n am in the same boat. I just tempted the 1st wake up call of the night since that would be my longest sleep cycle. It made for an ugly chart but a very pronounced once dispite the timing variances :!!

My DS still wakes once or twice during the night, but he's fairly predictable. Most of his wakings are before 2am and then he doesn't wake for the day until 8ish. So I set my alarm for 5:30am and unless he wakes after 3, I always temp then and just to back to sleep. This works well for me and I see a clear shift at O.
