CP: WWYD? Friend's wedding (long)

One of my (our) good friends is getting married. DH is flying over for the wedding, and then coming over to MN after that. I was planning on going to the wedding but due to school stuff, I didn't find out until today that I would be able to go (scheduling issues, long story, irrelevant). So I went to book my tickets and it's going to cost me $741 round trip (MN to NY). I booked it, but you can get a refund within 24 hours so I have until tomorrow to make up my mind.

Factors to consider:
1. Since I live abroad, I miss a ton of stuff like this.
2. She is a very good friend and flew to Sweden for our wedding.
3. We are invited to the rehearsal dinner on Saturday night, so it would be that + the wedding on Sunday.
4. We'll only know one other person at the wedding, and she and I don't really get along.
5. Seeing DH that weekend would mean there's a chance that we would be able to get 1 BD in this cycle (I'd see him on CD14, I've been O'ing between CD12-15). This is not a reason to go but it is a factor, lol.
6. I will be about an hour late for my first day of my next rotation. I have cleared this with them but still. Actually, I don't even know if I'll be late because I don't know what time I'd start, but about an hour late, probably.
7. While it's expensive, we have the money, it's not the end of the world.

Sooo, WWYD? There is no SS because I have to decide one way or the other!

    If money isn't an issue, I'd go. 

    In other news, I flew to Sweden for a friends wedding and she also came here for mine.  I was her maid of honor and she was in mine.  It was awesome and fun both ways.  I'm so glad I went!

    Missing my little one lost at 9 weeks on 2.24.13. brokenhearted but not broken... 

    d&c 5/21/13... Still Healing, Still Standing... 

    MMC discovered 10/2/2013, TWINS... d&c 10/7/2013.  I still miss you, little ones. 

    Surgery December 2013 to remove a 10+cm fibroid... Open myomectomy. Benched for 3-9 months... 
    Will TTC summer Summer 2014 we hope!

    Dear God, Since I couldn't hold my little one in my lap and tell him about you, could you hold him in your lap and tell him about me?

    That's awesome!! I don't want to say money's not an issue, I mean it's a lot of money. But we have the money, and it's certainly not going to make us broke or anything. It's just that I usually pay only slightly more than that to fly round trip btw Sweden and NY!

    It sounds like she is a pretty good friend, I would absolutely go.
    I'm 31 and DH is 36

    Your reasons all sound totally valid, plus she's a good friend, plus seeing DH... Sounds like it would be worth it. I would go!

    Me: 32 DH: 33  High School Sweethearts  Married 5/28/2005
    DS1 born 6/5/10 at 40 weeks via emergency c-section due to fetal distress and IUGR caused by placental insufficiency
    DS2 born still 8/28/13 at 32 weeks via emergency c-section due to a complete placental abruption - cause unknown
    Baby #3 on the way, EDD 2/29/16.  Originally twins, but we said goodbye to Baby B at 8 weeks.

    Just go! I feel like since you bought the ticket already you made up your mind and just need some reassurance. The potential baby making is also a nice bonus. I say go and then you can swing by Oregon and see me before you head back! ;)

    When I lived overseas, DH and I made many trips back to the US for weddings. It was expensive, disrupted our lives, had to find people to watch our pup... but I never regretted it. All of our friends were so very thankful that we made the long trip. Making the extra effort helped to keep close friends close even when we lived thousands of miles away.

    And you can never go wrong with some BD time  :x

    If money isn't an issue, go! I live in Europe and one of my best friends lives in CA. We paid a crap ton of money but went to her wedding. Was a great trip - don't regret it. Just think, you could have a romantic weekend with DH bumpin and grinding (on the dance floor of course) :) ha
