Circumcision payback

This morning was LO's circ. Everything went well with the procedure. The worst was hearing all the babies crying. There were 4 circumcised this morning. At one point I told DH that I would meet him in the car.
DH went back to work this afternoon and LO had been sleeping for a few hours. I needed to nurse so I woke LO up and changed his diaper. Wouldn't you know the gauze falls off on the first diaper change. I feel so bad for his red raw penis. As I'm getting his new diaper and the Vaseline ready he starts pooping like a mad man. There is poop everywhere. As I'm cleaning him up and grabbing another diaper he starts peeing all over me, him, the wall, the floor, in the open Vaseline container. What a frigging mess. Onto the third diaper he poops again!!! Baby is now bare ass naked because he has hosed and pooped on his sleeper and surrounding blankets etc. I'm already nervous about getting all the Vaseline on his sore penis. Worlds longest diaper change ever I'm convinced!

Any tips for getting that Vaseline from my fingers on the winky? I did my best and then put a gob on the diaper too but I'm concerned I didn't get it covered good enough?

We were advised to just put a good amount if petroleum jelly on the inside if his diaper with every change. He is all healed up now! Best of luck!

Our LO didn't have gauze, so I'm no help there.  We used A&D ointment for him and just applied enough to cover and then some.  And like PP mentioned, I would rub the left over in the diaper where his penis would be.

My hospital and pedi both told me to put a tablespoon of Vaseline or A&D on a piece of gauze then place on ween.

They had us just put a huge glob on the front of the diaper.

Our pedi didn't have us use gauze. But you should definitely get a squirt tube of Vaseline if you don't have one already. It's so much easier than the tub!

We didn't have gauze, but do yourself a favor and get Vaseline in a squeeze tube. They have it at RiteAid, and I imagine most drug stores. We would just squirt a huge dollop on his ween and close the diaper up before he could pee on us

This. The hospital gave me a pack of gauze. Then before I opened the diaper I squeezed the Vaseline on one a good amount and then proceed to change the diaper. Also if he just pee I put the fresh diaper under him before taking the wet one off.

We were told to put antibiotic cream over the penis with each change, no gauze required.  I absolutely would recommend the tube though, just squirt a nice size dollop on, no fumbling with a tub.

My LO had his circ this morning as well and his gauze already fell off too. The doctor said not to worry if it falls off and to just leave it, don't put more on. For the Vaseline, we've been putting it on his diaper where his penis would touch. It seems to work... However, now he keeps leaking out of his diaper because the front part isn't as absorbent now.
This is my third circumcision and they're all brutal. They don't get easier to hear or deal with. Ugh

The hospital gave us these awesome packets of Vaseline so we would just squeeze a huge glob on his ween. No gauze was used. He healed great!

We had my little one circ done with the plastic ring this time. So much better and easier to care for.

We put a huge glob of vaseline on a gauze pad after each diaper change.  It worked great and he healed up very quickly!

We did the same, used 3x3 - square of gauze pad and spread the petrolium jelly on the gauze. Then we tent the gauze over his penis. This way it keeps the poop from getting on it.

I'm sorry for your trouble but man did this make me giggle. Boys are such a hot ass mess. When my LO pees on everything (including himself) and then turns into a poop machine all I can do is laugh because the face he makes when he pees on himself is truly priceless.
