Silly question for FTM! Is there a need to bring the diaper bag to the hospital?

Nah, you won't need it! They will provide all the essentials for the baby in the hospital and then you'll be going right home when you are discharged.

I am bringing one.  I know the hospital will provide most things, but I packed a blanket to go home in, a going home outfit, an outfit to get pictures taken in, nail clippers and a headband

I'm not bringing it. Just an overnight bag, with the babies going-home outfit. The hospital provides everything else.

Nope...unless you live a long way from the hospital and will be making a long drive home. We live 15-20 minutes from the hospital and we never bother with the diaper bag.

We also packed a big reusable shopping bag to smuggle the goodies in!  Gotta get everything they offer!

Nope. I've only packed two going home outfits for her, burping cloth, warm blanket, socks, and a cap all in one bag with my stuff. I plan on throwing a big plastic bag for what the hospital gives us to take home.

I packed the diaper bag as a diaper bag/baby's overnight bag.  I had a few diapers and wipes and a burp cloth and blanket, as well as a couple coming home outfits (different sizes), onesie and an extra sleeper.  I was always allowed to put the baby in a sleeper if I wanted while in the hospital prior to going home.  I think I only did once, but it's nice to have the option.  Also a cute hat and a warm one to wear home if necessary.

We live a fair ways away from the hospital so we are bringing it but it only had her outfit and a blanket in it. Hospital will provide the rest...

I will probably bring the diaper bag as the baby's bag with her blanket and going home outfit and then I can shove the free goodies in there.

I know I will forget things but for the baby we always come home with diapers, wipes, onesies, receiving blankets. and then for me I take the tucks pads, pads, mesh underwear, nipple cream. Lots of goodies!

This is what we will do too! The diaper bags from our hospital are super cute too, and come with a changing pad that matches.

You will likely get a free diaper bag at the hospital. I wouldn't want to have to deal with three bags so just bringing one small bag for me, DH and the baby

Mesh undies are freakin awesome! So comfortable and you could care less if they get all gross (which whatever underwear you're wearing will likely get gross thanks to giant pads and lots of bleeding). I loved them so much I asked for extras to take home. They were a God send after csection!
