I started Zofran this wk and am horribly constipated. I tried stool softeners with no luck. My ob has an approved list of meds on their website and Senokot, a vegetable laxative, was on the list. I took two doses and now I'm seeing very conflicting things online, including it can cause miscarriage. I'm freaking out. Why would that be on the list??!!
Trust your OB. I ha the same problem did one dose of Miralax and it got things working for me (along with pear and apple juice). I used to work for a colon/rectal surgeon and she said senokot is okay for very short term use but long term use can actually discolor your colon (making it hard to spot trouble areas and polyps when you are older).
