Cloth Diapers

I've been buying diapers for the past 2 years for my first, and now have a second, and that's a lot of diapers. I've decided to give cloth diapers a try and was hoping someone has a recommendation on a laundry detergent. I was told something with no dye in it. Also, fabric softer & dryer sheets... yes/no? Any advice about cloth diapers is welcome. Thank you.

There is actually a cloth diapering board that is super helpful. As far as detergent, I order Econuts online (several diaper- safe detergents can be found online) but I know people have success with Tide (the die/scent free one). You should not use fabric softeners or dryer sheets.

This site has a great chart for CD safe detergents. That said, most people I know with Fairfax or Arlington water don't seem to have a rinse issue with Tide. Loudon has harder water, so you need to be more careful with detergent selection.
