1. How are you doing? How is your LO doing? I am flipping tired today. DS was up for almost 3 hrs last night. Not crying, just fidgety and having trouble falling back asleep. Of course I start going over the list of things we ate during the day trying to figure out if we messed up somewhere... But he wasn't gassy or spitting up, poops have been normal. And, I finally gave him cheese! I melted a little Gouda on a tortilla chip. He loved it, and I haven't detected any reaction. Yay!

Larabars, Kit's Organic bars, Enjoy Life chocolate, Corn Chex, some Odwalla juices, Alexia Yukon gold french fries (frozen), Adell's chicken & apple sausage, Appelgate Farms lunch meats.
4. Anything else you'd like to share today?
I have a question for the soy-free mamas: do you eat Rice Chex? I picked some up this weekend and gave some to DS without checking the label (ugh!! I usually get Corn Chex, for some reason I thought I'd got Rice Chex before but maybe not) and there's Vitamin E listed in the ingredients. I called General Mills and asked what the source of the Vit E was and all they would tell me is that if soy was in the product they would list it on the package.
The lady said they take allergen info very seriously and I want to believe her, but I would feel better if she had just told me what it was made from. Anyone have any experience with this product?
2. I still have soy lecithin, soy flour, and soybean oil. I avoid soy protein and dairy. So I'm not sure which of these have some soy but like PP said, Oreos. Also Little Debbie cherry and lemon pies. Pillsbury refrigerated pie crust for making homemade chicken pot pie.
3. I love Milton's bread with Earth Balance. Applegate Farms chicken nuggets and there's another brand wholefoods sells in a blue box, I forget the name I wanna say it's like Bell and Evans or something like that? The coconut chicken they make is good. I buy a lot of stuff from Trader Joe's. I'm loving their multigrain medley of rice, barley, and veggies right now. It's in the frozen food aisle and you just defrost or heat in microwave.
4. I'm still wondering when McDonalds started putting milk in their fries bc my mom gave him some a month or so ago and I'm wondering if he was fine with them or if he just could have been irritable and I blamed it on teething.
2. I really haven't been surprised. DH is pretty lactose intolerant, so I had a good idea of what had dairy before I started.
3. I'm eating soy oil and lecithin, so I'm not that restricted. Wegmans brand and ghriradelli semi-sweet chocolate chips have been a life saver. I really like the So Delicious frozen coconut bars for an ice cream substitute. Wow, I have a sweets problem!
4. I want to know where folks are seeing McDonalds fries have milk in them. I know there was a row years ago about them not being vegetarian, but when I checked their website recently they showed as milk free.
From the Nutrition Info on their site:
"FRENCH FRIES:Ingredients: Potatoes, Vegetable Oil (Canola Oil, Soybean Oil, Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, Natural Beef Flavor [Wheat and Milk Derivatives]*, Citric Acid[Preservative]), Dextrose, Sodium Acid Pyrophosphate (Maintain Color), Salt. I have been lurking on this board for a couple of months. As you 'll see from my siggy, LO is a preemie. She's almost 1 year old actual. We've been battling with reflux and poor weight gain for some time and seeing different specialists and she's on prilosec and zantac. At the suggestion of 1 of her specialists we switched to nutramigen and went dairy free to see it it woud change things . It was a drastic improvement! Lo has slowly started to increase her formula intake and has greatly decreased her swatting at the bottle and overall fussyness at feeding time. She's been doing better at putting on weight. She's finially made it onto the growth chart for weight. Today we had an appt with an allergist and she tested negative for cow milk allergy and soy (skin lest). So looks like MPSI might be the thing. Allergist recommended keeping her cow milk free for another year and when she's 2 to slowly start reintroducing. I'm looking foward to learning from you all so that i'll be ready that point.
