~*~*MSPI Moms Weekly Check-In*~*~
Welcome! This is a check-in for moms who are/were on a dairy free and/or soy free diet due to their LO's intolerance. To check out the archive of our previous check-ins, please see the MSPI Moms Blog.

Re: ~*~*MSPI Moms Weekly Check-In*~*~
2. Still planning to EBF until sometime between 2 and 3.
3. I've been snacking on frosted mini wheats and homemade trail mix.
1. How are you doing? How is your LO doing? Good, although I think I'm catching DS's cold. This one was pretty rough so I didn't try giving him any dairy this weekend.
2. Are you currently or planning on extended breastfeeding? Does/did LOs MSPI factor into your decision? I am (obviously) and I would be if he weren't MSPI, but I would have probably given up pumping by now, but I feel like he wouldn't get enough to eat during the day if I didn't send a bottle my milk with him.
3. Please share your current favorite MSPI-friendly snack! I like making a batch of vegan muffins (with rice milk) and freezing them so I can munch on them throughout the week. Here's a recipe I want to try next: https://yesiwantcake.com/2011/08/17/packed-zucchini-muffins/
4. Anything else you'd like to share today?
I'm doing well. Getting used to not eating dairy and being very conscious of soy, which is tough, because we eat lots of Asian food. DS is doing better. Much less spit up and fussiness.
2. Are you currently or planning on extended breastfeeding? Does/did LOs MSPI factor into your decision?
I haven't thought that far ahead yet. If he's still MSPI at a year, that may make me want to do EBF. I'll still need to alter our menu for him (my previous 2 ate what we ate at a year), and he'd still need milk. If he's grown out of it by a year, then it's no issue. So I guess I will EBF regardless.
3. Please share your current favorite MSPI-friendly snack!
Utz Honey Wheat Pretzel Braids. They're addicting.
4.Anything else you'd like to share today?
We visited my sister last week and DS did so good. I can't figure out what I wasn't eating that I normally do. I am leery of dining out/ take out, because even with the allergen info, I hate not having control.
My list of foods to avoid now includes caffeine, carbonation, cucumbers, citrus, and corn on top of M and S.
Sweet little face. That's what happens to my DS's face when I give him something that doesn't agree with him (coconut, chickpeas, buckwheat, citrus, peppers...). I never saw that when I ate dairy though. Thanks for sharing!
2. I am extended bfing (ds is 18 months). My main reason is the bonding, but MSPI is an added reason.
3. Amy's vegan chocolate cake from the frozen food aisle and frozen strawberries not totally defrosted.
4. I am researching if I should get allergy testing when DS turns 2 since the dairy trial went badly.
1. How are you doing? I'm ok, still getting used to the new diet. I've been dairy/soy free for 5 weeks now. Still allowing myself soy oil since some MSPI can handle it, but may have to cut that out soon depending.
How is your LO doing? Still traces of blood in her diaper. Currently battling reflux, not sure if it's related or not. Probably is. Zantac didn't help, we're on day 1 of Prilosec.
2. Are you currently or planning on extended breastfeeding? Does/did LOs MSPI factor into your decision?
Currently BF and supplementing with Nutramigen as my supply is low. Trying everything I can think of to increase supply. Will continue BF as long as I can, but if supply doesn't increase may stop.
3. Please share your current favorite MSPI-friendly snack!
Cashews, Almond Breeze Iced Mocha, lactation cookies modified - substitute butter for Earth Balance, or Earth Balance Soy Free if avoiding soy oil & Enjoy Life Chocolate Chips. Add raisins optional https://www.milkinmamas.com/lactation-cookie-recipe/

I miss pizza so much I could cry. Tried to make my own using Daiya moz "cheese" & it was freaking disgusting IMO. Also I've just started a D/S free recipe board on Pinterest, if you'd like to follow https://pinterest.com/girlevolving/dairy-soy-free-recipesresources/
