My DS has a white coat on his tongue that I can't get off. ?I use the plastic finger cot with brush, but still can't seem to remove all of the leftover formula from his tongue.
We were just at the pedi today and asked about the same thing. ?He said it wasn't thrush even though it didn't wipe off. ?His official diagnosis was "milk tongue". ?He said thrush is in patches and milk tongue is one big patch. ?He said to let DD suck on a wet rag during bath time a few times a week and that should help. ?
Look at the gums, roof of mouth and cheeks. Are there are white patches there as well? ?If so, it's probably thrush. ?
Re: Formula tongue?
is that something to worry about? Is he showing signs of thrush?
It's probably just formula stuck in his tastebuds... I wouldn't worry.
